AccuCast Technology LLC, a ductile, gray and white iron foundry, received registration of its quality management system under ISO 9001-2000 by the International Organization of Standards (ISO) and re-certification has just been accomplished recently.

AccuCast’s accredited registrar, QMI Management Systems, noted that the performance of the foundry’s management, technical staff and skilled employees was exceptional, especially in the areas of customer focus, manufacturing control and verification and service responsiveness.

The foundry manufactures iron castings from 100 lbs. to 2000 lbs. in small to medium lot sizes for a number of growing industrial segments including bulk material handling, construction and farm equipment, off-road vehicles, power systems and power distribution, machine tools, components for valves, pumps and blowers and the military. 

AccuCast President, Sal DeTraglia stated “the ISO certification validates our commitment to on-time quality service to our customers through defect prevention and product verification.  It also demonstrates to our customers that our quality system withstood the scrutiny of a highly regarded independent review.  We are extremely proud of our achievement not only for us but for our customers as well.” 

AccuCast Technology, located in South Bend, Indiana, has been in continuous operation since 1874.  The foundry, which has a solid reputation for high quality castings made to exact specifications has strategically positioned itself to be a “service foundry” by focusing on agility and responsiveness to meet the delivery and service expectations of today’s customers.

The foundry can melt a variety of metal types during a shift and make multiple pattern changes.  It operates three 9-ton Induction furnaces and a new 10-Ton Ajax Tocco furnace that became become operational in 2006.  It has a capacity of 40 tons per day and makes ductile, gray and white iron castings that range from 100 to 2000 lbs, in lot sizes from 1 to 5000 pieces.
