Formerly
SM&F Manufacturing, the foundry was purchased in July of 2004 by a
group of casting industry executives with a wide range of domestic and
global experience that includes the pioneering of foundry engineering
techniques and advanced manufacturing processes that yield castings of
superior quality, made exactly to the customer's specifications and delivered
on time.
The focus
of the new management will be on a dynamic and changing marketplace where
customers require smaller quantities and more customized products. By
applying an agile manufacturing process that is quick, responsive and
highly flexible, heats can run in a variety of metals and patterns can
change rapidly to meet customer demand for smaller lots sizes (from 1
to 5000) or quick turn around for last minute orders.
The name
of the foundry, which has been in continuous operation since 1874, has
been changed to AccuCast Technology LLC to reflect the agility, technology
leadership and strengths of the company today.
Under its new ownership AccuCast Technology will continue to be an innovator
and leader in the casting industry and focus on the needs of its customers.
